High Quality Guitar Lessons for Beginners

Guitar Lessons for Beginners

September 15, 2011 admin Easy Way To Learn Guitar

For those who want to play the guitar but don’t believe that they can, stay positive and try to learn the basics first before you conclude this is not the thing for you.  I have listed the basic things to learn in guitar lessons for beginners like you.

All other great guitar players out there started as a novice too, so don’t pressure yourself to catch up with all your guitar lessons right away because these masters had years and years of training and experience first before they conquered the world of guitar playing.

In any high quality guitar lessons for beginners, you will be taught the proper hand positions and posture first before you start with your first strumming lessons.  Not maintaining these correct postures and positions will eventually work against you no matter how many hours you practice and study your guitar every day.  So pay attention when your tutorials teach you how to finger a note or chord properly or how to sit.  Follow these loose guidelines when you begin your guitar lessons for beginners if you want to start in the right track.

Hold Your Guitar Properly

It is your strap’s job to hold your guitar up, but if you are in a sitting position, it is your knee’s.  The objective here is to have both your hands free so you can properly strum and fret. I believe that your guitar doesn’t have to be in an exact certain position in contrary to what other guitar instructors or teachers commonly tell their students.  Our bodies come in different sizes and shapes, so try to adjust your strap to the same height.  Your whole body, not only your hands and arms, also plays a role when you play your music in that guitar.

The Proper Posture

Sit in the upright position and slightly forward because your body will work better when your spine is straight.

Avoid developing any awkward habit when it comes to your posture.  So do check your body position and posture every time.

When you prefer to stand when practicing, try to stand in the same position.  When you prefer to sit, then make it a point to sit on the same chair every time you have practice.

Your neck should not be way out in front of you. This happens when you are trying to constantly watch what your fingers are doing when you strum.

Slouching is highly discouraged if you don’t want your back to kill you every after you finish your guitar practice.

Relax your body and muscles when you practice.  Learning to play guitar should not involve too much tension or pain.  It is important to enjoy and have fun, otherwise you’d give up easily

Laying the guitar on your lap is a no-no.
